Club Constitution
ARTICLE I
The name of this organization shall be the Estrella Mountain CommunityCollege Linux Users Group (LUG) Club.
ARTICLE II: Purpose
The purpose of this organization is to stimulate a strong
interest in Linux to provide fellowship among the Linux
student enthusiasts and to promote learning among the members.
ARTICLE III: Membership
Section 1. The members of the Estrella Mountain Community
CollegeLinux Users Group Club are to be any students of
Estrella Mountain Community College.
Section 2. The members of the organization are to be Linux
enthusiasts, interested in participating and promoting theeducation of Linux.
Section 3. Active members are those students of Estrella
Mountain CommunityCollege who have stated an interest in
Linux Users Group, have given their name and address to the
Linux Users Group Club, and have paid their current dues (if any).
ARTICLE IV: Election of Officers
Section 1. Elective officers are the president, vice–
president, secretary, and treasurer.
Section 2. The term of office shall be one semester.
Section 3. Officers shall be elected by a simple majority
vote by active members of present. The date and time of each
election shall be announced to the members present at a
regularly scheduled meeting at least one week prior to the
election. (See ARTICLE 5)
Section 4. The president shall preside over the meetings and
help in activities sponsored by the group. The president may
appoint committees to aid in the conduct of activities and
the maintenance of the organization.
Section 5. The vice-president shall be responsible for
correspondence and serve as an aid to the president.
Section 6. The secretary shall record the business meetings.
Section 7. The treasurer shall be responsible for the
funds accumulated.
ARTICLE V: Elections
Elections of officers are held during the second meeting of
each semester.
ARTICLE VI
Meetings
Meetings are held once every two weeks.
ARTICLE VII
Dues (If any)
Each member shall pay dues of one dollar each semester.
Moneys shall bedeposited with the campus cashier.
ARTICLE VIII: Revisions and Amendments
Revisions and amendments may be made in this constitution by
a two-thirds vote of the active members.
ARTICLE XI: Volunteerism
The organization will be responsible for 10 hours of
community volunteer Service work each semester with a one
page description of the work done Which
is to be submitted to the Director of Student Life.
ARTICLE X: Advisors
Section 1. The advisor shall be selected from faculty or
staff who work at EMCC.
Section 2. The advisors will attend all business meetings of
the club.
Section 3. The advisor will work closely with the students.
